First Communion

First Communion instruction is offered for second graders and older.  There are three instruction dates.  Parents or guardians are asked to attend the first night, where an overview of what the youth will be learning and how they can support this process will be shared.  Youth will receive their First Holy Communion on Sunday, March 1st at the 8:45 service.

Confirmation
7th and 8th Grade

“Affirmation of Baptism,” also known as confirmation, is an opportunity for tweens / teens to learn about what shapes our Lutheran faith.  They prepare to take on the responsibility of their own faith from the promises made by their parents, sponsors and congregation at baptism.  It is also an opportunity to grow in knowledge and appreciation of our faith and faith traditions.  The service of Affirmation of Baptism is held on Reformation Sunday of their 9th grade year.

College Students

Trying to figure out what you “want to be”, where you fit in, what are you going to do for the “rest of your life” can make college a trying time in a young person’s life, although also a time of tremendous growth.  To support our commuting and residential college students, we send monthly mailings containing bits of advice, little pick me ups, or a special treat.
